Learnings
Developing a emotional outlook for design
The most important thing about emotional design is, it’s not another layer on the usability aspect of things, like frosting on a cake. It is more of a constant consideration, and should be omnipresent like sugar in the cake batter.
Getting comfortable with uncertainty
I knew there are no correct answers in design, but emotions are a whole new arena. I spent the majority of my time here settling own on an opportunity area. Initially, the absence of a clear problem was very unsettling & confusing, but over time I grew comfortable with just asking questions and trying to find answers, even if I failed to get a definitive answer.
Devil is in the details
Even something really small and unnoticeable can unconsciously impact a user’s experience over repeated use.
Constant zooming in & out is important
It is easy to get lost in the details, the constant going back and looking at things (data) together in co-relation to each other.
